A pretty spectacular month ahead
With the lovely glass pane in our front door skillfully covered up by a fabulous granny apple green and brown houndstooth cloth, my dream of making sure that each trick-or-treater had a clearly observable face (no masks) was dashed to pieces.
Until neighbors suggested I use the painted glass pane above the covered glass pane which would require a step ladder which could be a pain or cause a pain if I wasn’t careful.
I didn’t want to appear adorable–but I didn’t want to be repulsant, either. ~grin~
Repulsant.
As in ‘repulsant snozzcumber’.
“Here is the repulsant snozzcumber!’ cried the BFG, waving it about. “I squoggle it! I mispise it! I dispunge it! But because I is refusing to gobble up human beans like the other giants, I must spend my life guzzling up icky-poo snozzcumbers instead!”
—Roald Dahl, The BFG
[If you didn’t that read that out loud–you should give it another go. Delightful.]
This is me trying to casually glance through the upper pane whilst standing on the step ladder of death. I even have the horrifying glow of a flashlight shining from ‘neath my chin.
Great idea.

November is looking to be a pretty spectacular month.
It’s going to be A Month of Thanks and Giving for me.
And I do mean giving.
–giving something up
–giving in to reason
–giving more people the benefit of the doubt
–giving my all to a simple consistent endeavor
Stuff like that kind of giving.
Not that other months aren’t months of thanks and giving–because they are. They just don’t have the holiday to focus a couple of blog posts on.
Today was a day of giving more people the benefit of the doubt. Not all of them. Just more of them. ~grin~
It’s a good thing, this trying. It’s a good thing.
what do you think?
