Alice Palace loves heart stuff

Alice Palace loves a lot of things. A lot. It’s all kinds of wonderful to be on the list of things she loves. All kinds of wonderful. She became a guest blogger at the very end of last year — 2015.

Her first post, Alice Palace and Christmas, made my heart sing.

Alice dictates the entire post to her mom who quickly types it word for word — which just means that the wording and grammar belong to the wonder of a 4 – year old. [I particularly adore that aspect of this joint venture.] When it arrives, I’ll add photos and spaces. Everything in red is moi.

It’s a dreamy setup.

Alice Palace and her view of Valentine’s Day.

Dear Teresa, I love Valentine’s Day and I love you.

Well, I don’t know where we should go for our date when I’m done with the job. [ That’s what she calls writing a post.] I want to know if you want to go on a date. I want you to send me a text about that.

I love you.

Valentine’s Day is about giving heart stuff to people that you love. That’s what Valentine’s about.

I love you.

On the first Valentine’s Day I think it started snowing. It really did snow there. And people decided to make valentines. I decided to make love bug spiders, but they weren’t real. They were on Valentine’s and I gave them to the kids at my old school and people gave out lots of treats and different Valentines. All people love Valentine’s Day, because I think they like celebrating it.

Because, I think they really love getting Valentines.

[Alice loves bugs. Her little sister, Bonbon, loves to be outside. She’s the little one in the window lamenting the horrible situation of having no shoes on and consequently being denied permission to run amok.]

People can eat some food that was passed down from their uncle a long time ago or their great-great-great-grandma that lived a long time ago. It can be from an aunt or uncle or even a dad who lived a long time ago. I like to eat special tacos that were passed down, but no one passed them down to me.

[Tell me that isn’t adorable and I will refuse to believe you. Refuse. Aaaand I’m wondering if she’s talking about recipes being passed down. Come to find out, that’s exactly what it is. She learned about ancestors and things being passed down. Including recipes which could easily be translated into special tacos.]

Mom’s boyfriend is Daddy, because mom and dad got married.

[That’s Alice’s mom — Charli — and Alice’s dad — Charli’s “boyfriend” — Owen.]

They danced and they kissed and then they went to the hospital and got their first baby.

It was me.

And then they got Bonnie.

Dad goes on a date with me and Bonnie. I love his ideas, but I really love mom and dad. I love every idea when they come up with them. Like hotdogs aren’t really healthy, but I love them so much. I love 7-11 a lot, because they have hotdogs there. I go there with my dad sometimes and that’s our best date. We go different places by where we live too.

People give some people flowers for Valentine’s Day. I love flowers, but no people gave me some for Valentine’s Day. But when it was Valentine’s Day at school, it was my best day at school, because I loved the candy that I got. I also like every part about my old school. I’m going to give my sister a valentine and I have a really cool dance move for Valentine’s day and a book about it and everything.

[I am longing to see the dance. Longing.]

I hope Teresa comes over to our house when it’s Valentine’s day. Because I love her.

I love kittens and every amount of stuff.

That’s what I love all day and all night. I even love little puppies, because they are actually little dogs. I especially love baby animals. They are so cute.
