Cookies for Celebrating and a Giveaway

Cookies for Celebrating

Cookies plus celebrating equals true love — which means I know true love because I’ve eaten a lot of cookies this past week in my lifetime. Cookies for celebrating quite simply means there are some occasions where something rather special is in order.

I love cookies and celebrating which moves us rather nicely into the reason for the next couple of posts that will be showing up on Sweet Creek Moon.

March is my birthday month — the exact date being the 27th. Once in a blue moon — actually even less than that — Easter falls on my birthday. Twice in my lifetime to be exact — once in 2005 and again, this year — 2016. The next occurrence of Easter falling on my birthday will be March 27, 2157.

A mere 141 years away. [Wide eyes and knowing look. I’ll be considerably less spry for sure.]

This year was a big deal.

Plans started taking shape [a lot of that planning will be included in the next post] and then I chanced upon the owner of a business who’s trying to navigate her way through the world of selling confections — in this case — cookies.

Beautiful mini cookies.

And I’m not kidding about that part. At all. They really are almost too beautiful to eat.

Almost. ~grin~

It’s at this point where you hope that the cookies she’s going to send [for every guest who attends the birthday celebration] taste as good as they look– because they’re beautiful.

Her name is Jozie and she’s a mini confections designer who ships nationwide from New York. Her company is Kismet Confections.

They make mini cakes, cupcakes, cookies [you can request shapes to match the theme of a party], and cakenuts — it’s very much a specialty shoppe. I requested flowers and that’s exactly what she sent.

Jozie actually sent something different in a box for me which was tied with a white ribbon to indicate Birthday Girl favoritism. [Can I just tell you that she is a gem to work with? I get that we were collaborating, but she was genuine and patient and showed no signs of mental fatigue after answering all of my questions. That’s a big deal.]

~grin~

Here’s what she sent in my box — they’re adorable.

Marbled and finished off with an edible gold paint. They put a smile on my face.

I was delighted about the idea of giving each of my guests a party favor to thank them for coming to celebrate moi.

My sister had the delightful idea to make the taster boxes into a tree.

It was perfect. We added little sparkly baubles to the work of art and a gigantic bow on top. It was perfect!

As far as what these little morsels tasted like, may I just say that I love the texture of the cookie. Like a lot. It’s my favorite part. It’s a perfect balance of frosting and cookie. I like my cookies a little thicker and these gems fit the bill. I handed the boxes to the guests as they left and it truly felt like I was handing out jewelry boxes.

Each guest opened their box of treasures and had something wonderful to say about the presentation, the box, the bright colors, the gold paint.

Cookies for Celebrating — just about anything a person celebrates.

During the course of our conversations I also discovered that she has a graphic tee business. I really wanted to do a giveaway and Jozie quickly agreed to have two separate giveaways.

THIS giveaway will introduce and connect you to what she does. We consumers need to see the product to feel it, right? It’s definitely a cookie for celebrating just about anything you can think of to celebrate.

The prizes include one taster box, one fabulous graphic tee [you’ll be able to choose from some fantastic designs], and a knothead band [I’ll give you some fabric choices for spring/summer knothead bands.]

I asked for permission to post these fabulous shots of two of her tees. They come in a variety of sizes. We’ve made that part of entering the giveaway to go visit and follow her sites and see if it’s something you would be interested in.

They’re beautiful with thoughtful, meaningful, and fun messages.

These are quality tees. It’s not a flimsy, thin cotton/knit.

They come in a great variety of sizes to fit curvy and not curvy. ~grin~
