Still, Still, Still for a triple-post day

Post the Third –and final– (of this wonderful, delightful, very fine day)

*rawr*

Not ‘rawr’ about the post–definitely not that.  It’s a ‘rawr’ because I misrepresented myself horribly this evening at an audition.  Auditions can sometimes be fabulous.  I’ve had some fabulous auditions–but this wasn’t one of them.

And it is altogether lamentable.

[There was a part of me that wanted to go in with a big BiNg-BaM-PoW and just do well. ~sigh~ I haven’t stopped breathing or anything and no baby fell off of the earth–I just did all kinds of “have you ever auditioned before?  Like ever?”]

Moving right along.

[~heavy sigh~ Shoulders up and shoulders down kind of sigh.]

Except for let me say this one thing: It is definitely part of the deal not to snag a part because you’re not what the director is looking for, or you’re not a ‘good fit’ with the others they are casting for the show, or–or–that kind of thing–but it is not part of the deal to go prepared and then audition as if it was a spur of the moment decision you made as you were passing the building. Blarg.  That is all I have to say: blarg.

Okay.

In keeping with today’s theme (Christmas songs that I give the world permission to sing/listen to the whole year–the entire year–through, because I’ve just been appointed as sheriff of such a thing–by the unanimous vote of one) here’s the third song.

I love this song.

I sing this song–regularly.

I want to be prepared for the day (and I know it will come, my friends, I know it will come) when someone says: “Hey, we need an alto in order for us to break into spontaneous singing right here in the mall.” Or the store.  Or that stairwell.  Or this very fine celebratory gathering of merriment.

Yes.

~smile~

That oughta help me forget about the curious-no-good-very-bad audition.

Happy triple-post day of December.
