Tip of the day: cut the sleeves off
It’s a true story. None of the names have been changed to protect anyone. The places are true. The event is real. No animals were injured in the process of photographing. ~smile~ Here’s the quick tip of the day.
This could be the shortest post of my blogging life.~
Found this beautiful top.
Found a ‘shred-the-thread’ party going on at the serged edge of one sleeve–needed some fixin’.
I said to myself, I said: “You can fix this easy-breasy, my creative little friend.”
And it’s true.
The next thought came swiftly: “But, I don’t want to buy thread for the serger that matches exacka-dack-ily so let’s just cut off the sleeves.”
So I did.
I made sure to cut deliberately/cautiously as well as to cut on a contrast color surface (my jeans were perfect for this). It made it much easier to see where I was cutting.
It took approximately 10.37 minutes to go from this:
To this:
That’s fabulous and you know it.
[Or at least sense it.]
Here it is paired with simple long-sleeved top, a bauble necklace, and jeans. I would easily wear it with a black pencil skirt, boots, and the right cardi/jacket.
Anyone recognize that fabulous wall?
[Hint: It’s inside of a newly opened local boutique–the place where I found the top in the first place.]
If you ever want an idea about how to mend or modify or change up an item or two in your closet–D O N’T H E S I T A T E to ask. Seriously. I’d love it.
One more day until Valentine’s Day.
Sweet.
