It’s a Valentine giveaway–and a little bit more. There are a couple of things I’m loving about this post. #1–it’s a post about front porches.  #2–it’s a post about a Valentine giveaway. I love porches. There are oh-so-many ways to add character to a porch. [I consider our front porch to be an extension of the entryway.] The ‘welcome to our home’ begins before a gues even opens the door. ~smile~ Porches are fabulous. Front porches. Back porches. Wrap around. Tiny. Tall. Wide. Arched. Bricked. I just love porches. Here’s what’s currently happening on our front porch:

Draping a piece of fabric over the front door has proven to be one of the simplest ways to add a pop of color or texture, and character to the porch.  Here’s a closer look.

It’s not so much a sewing project (there are only two seams) as it is a cut and iron-on project.  [Let’s affectionately refer to this little guy as ‘Franklin’.]

I love how he turned out.

There’s a fabulous local boutique that loved it as well. [I’m so excited about this bit of news that I can hardly sit still. Hardly at all.]

ADORNit Shoppe is going to make kits–Welcome to the Front Door kits–that will be available online as well as in-store. I’m so excited.  There will even be a video tutorial (which we filmed today). As soon as everything is finalized and put together, you can bet I’ll be blogging about it–complete with links and such.

Tun-tun-tun-tah!

It’s one of those “is-this-for-real?” moments. I’m thrilled about it. [I have a big grin on my face, if you can imagine that.]

And now to the Valentine Giveaway part of the post. Isn’t it time for another giveaway? I say, “Yes” and because I’m the sheriff around these here parts we got us another giveaway. The lucky winner will receive: #1–This particularly wonderful bunting. The hearts are cut from five different pieces of paper which were then stacked–and sewn down the middle. [My sister Bonnie gave me that rather wonderful idea.]

#2–This carefully crocheted hat with a pin-on flower. [I actually and truly crocheted this hat–under the careful mentoring of Jonie. Which being translated means that I would be unable to duplicate such a thing again unless I was being supervised and mentored by any one of the many skilled crochet craftswomen I have the pleasure of knowing. ~smile~ I added a removable flower because it looks fabulous–AND–because the winner could use it on the lapel of a great jacket as well.]

#3–This fabulous French Connection scarf.

And there you have it. –One item to warm someone’s Valentine heart. –Two items for keeping warm when it’s cold outside. [Except–okay–it’s just a few hours before the giveaway closes and I had to add one more thing. This gel cling is a cinch for little ones to stick on windows or a refrigerator or a washing machine or just whatever.  ~grin~  The pieces are washable–they’re cute–and now they’re officially part of the Valentine package. YaY!]

Isn’t it a great week for a giveaway? Here’s how you can enter to win. Good luck to all y’all.

[This giveaway is now closed.]
