Marvel or Mischief

Marvel or mischief. This was originally posted in 2012. I’ve updated, it a bit because it’s a splendid way to begin the month of October or Socktober or Walktober or whatever you call it. It’s also a splendid way to introduce you to the beginning of the adventures and generosity of the Peanut Butter Bunch.
That wonderful pumpkin is not ours–it’s just on our porch–I mean–it’s ours because it was given to us but we didn’t grow it.
Whatever marvel (or mischief) brings it to our porch, I am delighted that it is there.
It. is. beautiful.
And now a word from Lemony Snicket.
“Xenial’ is a word which refers to the giving of gifts to strangers. . . . I know that having a good vocabulary doesn’t guarantee that I’m a good person. . . . But it does mean I’ve read a great deal. And in my experience, well-read people are less likely to be evil.”
–Lemony Snicket, The Slippery Slope
[Pronounced zee-nee-al. Used in a sentence: Xenial is a good spelling bee word. Xenial.]
~grin~
——-
Speaking of good detective work, I noticed something.
This is today’s porch bloom gladness.
Notice anything?
Here’s last week’s porch bloom gladness.
And now you see it, huh?
Crunchy versus creamy.
I know.  Is this the same Peanut Butter Bunch just trying to mix things up–or–OR–is this another Peanut Butter Bunch trying to mix me up? Hmm? See? I know, right?
[All of that should be said in a whisper for effect–for or a super-sleuthing-secret-agent-man effect. And include at least two furtive side glances–one to your left and one to your right.]
I don’t remember receiving a crunchy before. It’s always been creamy.
It’s. all. so. [side glance left, side glance right, back to the front] mysterious.
Say that line in your best Captain James T. Kirk of the Star ship Enterprise voice and it will be ever so much more delightful.
Which could make this–wait for it–wait for it: Happy Spock-tober 2nd. Because they were comrades. On the same ship. In the sky.
Live long and prosper.
