Scarves and ideas.
“It is one of life’s bitterest truths that bedtime so often arrives just when things are really getting interesting.”
~Lemony Snicket, The Grim Grotto
Who, who’s a night owl?
I’m a night owl.
[Apparently that’s a term that’s been used by humans for humans since the mid-1800’s.
If you can believe Google, anyway.]
That’s how it has been for the last several years.
Without boring you to tears —
there’s a slight to moderate chance that that’s already happened —
know that I’m campaigning with myself to change that.
“The Life and Changing Times of the Sweet Creek Moon Girl.”
Changing times.
Changing bed times.
That’s a different post, though.
[On a side note here, am I the only one who stays up late?]
That being said, let’s move to scarves and an idea that’s been around for at least a couple of years.
[It absolutely does NOT originate with me.]
~Scarves~
That really great multi-colored, delightfully patterned vest is actually a scarf.
A blanket scarf.
Really.
You can find them just about anywhere.
[I snagged this one at ADORNit.]
Several people have asked me how to “make” that scarf, so here you go.
Materials needed:
Not scissors.
Not a sewing machine.
A scarf.
~grin~
Simple, huh?
Prepare yourself to teach someone else how to do this “magic” because I guarantee they will ask.
It’s a fantastic way to layer without adding bulk.
And it’s splendid camouflage.
Yes, that is the same scarf.
Yes, polka dots are a great mix with that much pattern.
And no, I don’t wear the scarf-vest every day.
Maybe every other day.
~grin~
Okay.
One final idea.
Valentine’s Day is coming.
Here’s one of the things that will start in the Jones’ household on February 1st — for Handsome Dude.
You’ve heard of Gratitude Journals, right?
Many of you probably write down what you’re grateful for at the end of a day.
There’s something purposeful about reviewing the day and finding what you’re grateful for —
it “draws” you to the generosity of the day and that’s a good thing.
Some days it’s certainly easier to be drawn to something else.
A lot of something else.
>sigh<
Handsome Dude should feel as appreciated as my days are.
At the very least.
Does that make sense?
I’d like to become more consistently grateful for his generosity.
[Frankly, some days it’s easier to focus on almost anything else.]
A heart a day — through February — with gratitude written on the back.
I haven’t figured out where I’ll hang or tape or place them yet.
I don’t think it will be magical.
I do think it will matter.
Happy Month of Love and Generosity.
I kinda added that last part because one seems to be the result of the other any which way you look at it.
Mwwwaaa.
what do you think?
