The official welcome to the front door

This it the official welcome to the front door post. Not door post as in a door post–but a post about our door. I love decorating that porch space. Ours is to the sweet creek moon high which means I can put just about anything in there that I want. It’s a regular, everyday, awesome kind of porch. I don’t have to spend three weeks prepping and finally placing things. It’s usually pretty quick. Quick and fun. The  porch is an extension of our entryway. I don’t change it out every month because that would drive me bonkers and I just don’t want to invest the time. There’s something new/switched out/modified four times a year. Maybe five. The fall front door is finally and officially completed. Tra-la-la-Laaaaa.

Here’s what it looked like for summer.

It’s been a favorite of mine.

Here’s the fall porch.
Except that it wasn’t quite right. [You could sense it, right?]

I added a few things.

[By-the-way, painted crates are one of the fastest ways to pop a fun color on the porch.  I simply painted over the ones that have been there.  I won’t paint over my nice, old crates–but I grabbed three new (on sale) ones from a local craft store–and have painted them quite a few times already.  Love a fresh pop of color.]

Side-by-side and the differences will be obvious.
Can I just tell you I love that enormous pumpkin?
I love that enormous pumpkin.
The yellow flowers added another texture as well as a direction for the eye to follow.
The greenish/blue pumpkins are awesome.
Check out the fabulous texture.
Like a wart on a witchy-poo nose.
Aaaaand–whether or not you are surprised by this next bit of news remains to be seen–but–I decided to add one more thing and move another.  ~grin~
Take a look.
The red vinyl “Welcome” is quite shiny which just means I couldn’t grab a decent pic of it.
[Because I’m not a photographer.]
And–laugh if you will–snortle chorkle if you must–but I moved the bottom orange pumpkin over approximately 3″ so it wouldn’t be in a line with the top two orange pumpkins.
Tun-tun-tun-tah.
I love the front porch.
Oh.
Just for the fun of it–remember those hair-bow-bow ties?  Well–I just want to be cool and give something away.
[Let it be known through all the regions, roads and precipices that I am funded by my own self and by none other–which means you won’t be winning a house or a car.  Just remember that.  And if that is disconcerting to you in any way, you probably shouldn’t read the rest of the post.  Fair warning my blogging fiends friends.]
That really sounds fabulous in a British accent–or a Scottish one.  Seriously.
But I digress.
Remember these beauties?
Yuh–they are awesome.
And the brown one could be yours–because I have an extra one–if:
1–you like my Sweet Creek Moon Facebook page
2–you are the first one to accurately guess the weight (without going over) of the gigantic pumpkin Handsome Dude rolled onto the front porch
3–the guess has to be posted on the Facebook page (I’m there more often than I’m here) and underneath the status with the picture of pumpkin gigantic-us and the question, “How much do you think that little guy weighs?”
4–don’t post your guess here or this blog post will self destruct
5–as in don’t post your guess here unless you are practicing what you’re actually going to post on Facebook.
That’s it.
Seriously the best. prize. ever.
